On Wednesday 23 October, 40 older South Australians will take part in a one-of-a-kind ZestFest event where they will design the future of life at home at the Global Centre for Modern Ageing® (GCMA)’s award-winning living laboratory in Tonsley Innovation District.

The Zestfest super-sized round of co-design sessions, which are part of the 2019 ZestFest which kicked off 14 October 2019, will deep-dive into the key unmet needs and designing solutions for tomorrow.

“We are living longer due largely to advancements in science on health and care, we have greater access to information than ever before and now technology is set to revolutionise the way we live at home,” said Mr Andrew White, Chief Operating Officer of the Global Centre for Modern Ageing®.

“In a recent study of over 1,000 Australians, we identified seven key themes that relate to life at home that we will explore during the sessions so we can provide insights and guidance to industry to develop products and services that can better meet the needs of people as they age,” said Mr White.

“We would like to thank everyone who is taking part in the event,” Mr White added.

Festival Director, Jayne Boase, said ZestFest challenged the outdated stereotypes of ageing and presented an opportunity to embrace and own our longer lives.

“The festival celebrates longevity and helps unlock the possibilities that Modern Ageing brings,” she said.

“ZestFest helps older South Australians reinvent their own brand of older.”
